I think that gettext-howto tells right thing, as location, mentioned in gettext-howto, 
contains all other loalizes *.mo files to.

No, I'm talking with different cables (I have both of them) , different config 
in gnokiirc.

BTW. OS where all this strange things are is RH8.0 , quite fresh installation.
port /dev/ttyS0 is 660 , root:gnokii I'm in group gnokii

I suspect that some needed libraries are missing ..., but configure script output seems 
happy, without errors and complains.
