Hi all!

This is just to let the list know that since my first post, i've now got a working version of gnokii 0.5pre7 on my mac os x 10.2.3 server edition.

The build and install process went easily when following the "Readme Mac os x" file.

In addition, i purchased a usb-to-serial cable: the BAFO technologies BF-810. Not surprisingly, there were no Mac OS X drivers on the cd that accompanied the cable, but i found one on their web site. After some fiddling i got that to work, and low and behold two new devices showed up in my /dev directory: /dev/cu.usbserial0 and tty.usbserial0!

Finally i purchased a cable for my 3410, connected everything together and typed in: gnokii --identify...and..viola!..the results:

% /usr/local/bin/gnokii --identify
GNOKII Version 0.5.0pre7
IMEI         : <deleted>
Manufacturer : Nokia
Model        : NHM-2
Revision     : SW , HW

I see that in the above output, the SW and HW numbers are blank..is that because the 3410 isn't fully supported?

Anyway, my mac and my phone have started talking, and i'm happy.

Here is the contents of my .gnokiirc:

[global]
port = /dev/tty.usbserial0
connection = serial
model = 3410

I'm reading through the gnokii hackers guide to get a feel for the code.

later,
