I think I checked this out and such format is acceptable with vcard
3.0. But I may be wrong.

This was the next taks to do (general vcard support) besides few
bugfixes and the recent daemon stuff. Is there any volunteer to
improve vcard support? I think a good starting point may be multisync
patch for gnokii from Balint Reczey.

So just to rip out everything? In fact + should stay in place (if it
is in front). BTW. I just checked xgnokii sources and it ripps out all
white chars, but it leaves other non digits.
