-d is (and has always been) supported if and only if your tla is patched to support --date. Nobody's maintaining a current version of that patch,

It seems like there needs to be two date headers. On one hand, you don't want people faking commit times, but on the other, the commit-time shown in my logs now is incorrect. Perhaps having a commit timestamp that records the time of the commit as well as a display timestamp that allows one to specify when the work was actually done would be useful.
