Wow.  You're missing out.

The tutorial _does_ contain some very basic information on revision
libs.  The new features mentioned make them more flexible and more
automatic.

Now that the new features are in place, the next steps are:

  a) to work out some convenience commands to make it trivially
     simple for users to get them set-up and configured in fancy
     ways

  b) revise the documentation of them a bit

So, yeah, between that upcoming stuff and the existing tutorial,
hopefully it'll become clearer.
