My presumption was that this isn't a good idea because a `removable storage
device' often has `issues', e.g., slow speed, unreliability, accessibility to
others (or to yourself -- it's probably not inserted all the time).

Obviously if you can just tote around the main archive, you needn't fool with
other archives at all!
