   I had found the `Options' file, but what I'm interested in is
   precisely where lsh/OpenSSH is detected.  Somewhere, there must be
   some shell script that tries to run either `ssh' or `lshc', no?

Nope, no such thing is done.  You can set it only using --with-ssh or
somesuch.  AFAIK.
