This is not nice, but here is an excerpt from my gnu.emacs.sources.SCORE,
based on the proposal to use as subject line "<whatever>.el <anything>"
(Cf. <address@hidden>):

("Subject Namimg Convention anyone?" nil nil s)
("^[^.]+\\(\\|\\.[^e].*\\|\\.e[^l].*\\)$" -1000 nil r))
The last line gives a negative score to subjects which do not comply with the
above proposal.
The first two lines "rescue" their related threads and result from typing:
I s s p RET
in the *Summary* buffer.
