Looking at

http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/LyXServer

it looks like it still needs lyx installed on every machine. A quick google search did not bring up any results on network wide installation of latex.



I guess it won't be too hard in principle. Write a deamon that is listening on the server. Feed input to latex on the server, return e.g. pdf file.



Just did not find anything like this.
