I've updated my Web pages in view of the recent discussions:

    https://www.satsignal.eu/raspberry-pi/UpdatingGPSD.html

 From the first doc:

         # ubxtool -p SAVE -P 18.00
I't's unclear whether these commands need to be run as root or not.

I thought we had discussed that to death here:

     https://gpsd.io/ubxtool-examples.html#_sudo_sudont

ubxtool never needs root access, but will run fine as root.

I see lots to fix inre sudo and systemd, but I'm already tired out.

You will find better ways of installing in the gpsd doc.

Bad idea, as mnay before eventually discover:

"Updating NTP to use the RTC

Is your gpsGetSatellites.c a copy of gpsd/gpssnmp.c or vice versa?

Thanks, Gary.

I've updated the root/user note on ubxtool.

I've updated the section on using type 1 ref-clock driver, only as an emergency/backup mode ONLY when other time sources are not available.

Cheers,
David
