You might think about filtering messages with subjects that are, say,
80% the same character if greater than some minimum length, like
<XXXX>XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, and 100% all the same character for
subject lines with more than (say) 2 or 3 characters. Or 50% one character
and all the rest punctuation. The probability of the utility of messages
with subject lines like these has got to be low in any case.
And, of course, I won't cry if I never get another spam for toner
cartridges. But maybe there's some legitimate messages with that subject
line.
