I havent had any response from the social.coding initiative about my 
proposal to do a joint physical event.

It may not be my lack of cool and gravitas, I think their low polling 
for scheduling an event may have spooked them a little.

I will in any case still try the group I mentioned on the phone, as well 
as a couple other historical groups and institutions.
I suspect the other ones may have their own specific tradeoffs and that 
my Guanxi in my hometown has withered.
Worth a try in any case...

It still impresses me now your technical capabilities within Guix are 
matched by your amicability -- please never lose it.
