Hi,
Perrhaps my earlier message was too vahue about this, but I haven't been
able to get "View/Source" to use emacs. I only discovered that adding
parameters to the program name in the relevant regisry entry was treated
as an error by IE 5.5 (and it would start up Notepad nevertheless). So
I now simply ignore "View/Source" and push the Edit button which (with
the registry settings I posted earlier) nicely puts the page in emacs.
Cheers,
Karel

I tried Karel's latest, respecified for my W2000 machine and it
almost works.
---------
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\shell\Edit\command]
@="d:\\apps\\emacs\\gnuserv\\gnuclientw.exe -q -F \"%1\""
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Default HTML
Editor\shell\edit\command]
@="d:\\apps\\emacs\\gnuserv\\gnuclientw.exe -q -F \"%1\""
-------------
I placed that in file ie5tognu.reg and executed the file.
The registry got changed. gnuclientw is an option in
"Tools/Internet Options.../Programs/HTML editor"
I clicked on it, then went to "View/Source" and up popped notepad.
I have Windows 2000, IE5, NTemacs 21.1.1
thanks
Rich
