Hello! default gnats package has some problems with FHS. I think, that this problems should be resolved before GNATS 4 release. It is obvious that all databases should go to /var/lib/gnats. databases, dbconfig, global host_access should go to /etc/gnats. But, how should we deal with pr-edit, diff-prs etc. I think that /usr/lib/gnats isn't the best place for them. Maybe we could move them to /usr/sbin?
I think all backend programs should go in /usr/local/sbin.I do suspect that these things won't happen for 4.0, but one thing that I think is fairly pressing is the placement of the global gnatsd.host_access and gnatsd.access files. They are currently located in the rather illogical location of /PREFIX/share/gnats. They should be located together with the other global files, namely the databases and send-pr.conf files, currently in /usr/local/etc/gnats. Preferably, all these files should then be moved to /etc/gnats.
