I checked in some changes that implement recursive locks (counting mutexes)
for libc's internal locks that need to be recursive locks (dlopen and
libio).  That ought to fix the deadlocks in dlopen test programs that
Marcus saw.  Please test that and also tell me about any remaining make
check failures that don't have to do with wide character or stdio stuff.
