ENC: CVS import

Larry,

Thank's ! I've just read that in CVS manual(Per Cederqvist et al).

I know that i don't have to worry about revision numbers. But I'd like to
have a better understand if some of my customers/students ask me.

I was studying some graphs (CVSGraph) and could see that after the "cvs
import" there is also a tag called "MAIN" in the vendor branch (1.1.1).
After an edit and commit, this tag jumped to the main trunk (1). When I do a
"cvs checkout" with just the module name (no tag/revision/date) the checkout
is made under this "branch" MAIN ? This would explain why after the import i
checkout 1.1.1.1 (and not 1.1) and after editing i checkout 1.2.

I'd like to know the reason this branch is created and if under what
circunstances i can use it ? Can you help me ?

Thanks again in advance for you help,

No. Just ignore them.

Because they've been imported and thus they're on the vendor branch.
Again, just ignore the revision numbers, they're for CVS's use, not
yours.
