The format is similar to MH.  With MH, a folder is a directory, and
each message is a file.  The difference between the MH and Cyrus
formats is that MH uses numbers as filenames, whereas Cyrus uses an
appended dot.  So "42" would be an MH filename, and "42." would be a
Cyrus filename.
