Funny you should mention that... I just literally was looking through
that to fix my Gnus setup.  My ISP's news server just started
demanding authentication for the first time ever, and your tutorial
showed me the lazy man's way to set it up.  Thanks!  This page covers
all the information I had in mind, although it doesn't answer the
question about what one should do if the SMTP server requires
authentication- that appears to be unfinished.  Would there be lines
in ~/.authinfo for this, similar to what's there for the NNTP server?
