(Just a small nitpick: the tutorial isn't mine, I just posted a link
 here :-))

I haven't used authentification with smtp, so I haven't checked. The
full manual perhaps has the answer?

I'm sure the author(s) of the tutorial (apparantly named "Foobar" :-))
will be happy to include the missing information when you figure it
out.
