Carl

I agree with Graham. \displayLilyMusic has nothing to
do with the internal representation of music. It simply
shows the effect of \transpose.

Are you thinking of \displayMusic maybe, which is already in
NR 6?

Err, NR?

Uhhh -- Yep. LM, NR, it's all the same thing after a late night ;)

I have a section on displaying Scheme representations, and I want to add a
section on displaying LilyPond representations.

I propose that section 3.3.4. Displaying LilyPond notation move to LM 6.

Mao, this is confusing. You're not proposing to add an entirely
new chapter to the LM, containing nothing more than 3 paragraphs
and 3 examples, right?

Assuming you're talking about the NR, I kind-of like that material
where it is. As the examples show, it can be useful for
non-programming stuff. How do you feel about a link in NR 6 to
the current location? I don't mind if you want to add a short
example in NR 6 showing how to do this again, if it fits better
with your narrative.

Yeah, I'm talking about the NR.

How does the example in 3.3.4. show that it's useful for non-programming
stuff? What's the use of it?

And why does it fit with output? It has nothing to do with program output
-- it's just part of the console output.

I don't see the point of NR 3.3.4. -- it just seems to be a placeholder for
displayLilyMusic. I think a better place for it is in NR 6. But I'm open
to being convinced otherwise.

Once I get NR6 reworked, I'll post it for review.

Thanks,

Carl
