Huh, you're right!?  WTF?  How come we have a broken* stable branch, and
it is not being updated?

* I needed

    sed -i -e 'address@hidden, \<ja\>@de@' python/langdefs.py # japanese doc is 
broken in 2.12.2
    sed -i -e 's@ \<ja\>@@' Documentation/GNUmakefile # japanese doc is broken 
in 2.12.2

to build the suse package :-(
