TBH, I'm not sure whether the split version is correct. I get unsplit
words running locally.

Hmm, it would be simple to cook up a function which calls ly:progress:
#(ly:progress "\nThis is an intended error")
The only limitation is that the message wouldn't be placed directly
above or below the warning.
