Ok, I see.
I've tested it on latest git version and it looks like the \override 
Flag fixes the problem reported by Thomas:

I wonder why the website image is wrong.
git log Documentation/ly-example/tab-example.ly
doesn't show the full history of the file (maybe because the directory 
has been renamed?)

I'm wondering when that override was added.
