Thank you for doing this test! The results are valuable; i'd say that
it works reasonably. (however it would also be good to test a more
complicated piece - could you try it with first pages of attached
scores?)

and last file (IMSLP74045-PMLP148535-256-16_pls.png and
IMSLP74045-PMLP148535-256-16_pls_p2mp_pls.png) - the first one is the
original LilyPond engraving, and the second one is what you got after
converting to musicXML and back to .ly?
