One issue is that if wanting to use different finalis, then they might prefer 
to give another name. LilyPond, on the other hand, requires the note to be 
indicated.

So extension might be to have the signature note as default. Say
or
  \key \rast
  \signature \rast
expanding to
  \key g \rast
