As I understand what's going on, a preset with synthesizers et al is a "preset list of defaults", ie if I select a preset, it sets EVERYTHING up.

As I understand your usage, you have what I think of as a preset, and then you are applying what you call a preset, that modifies SOME of the settings.

It's that that's jarring - to me a preset is an initial setup that you can modify. As I understand you, you're using it as a bunch of settings that change part of an initial setup.

I'm not saying your usage is wrong, it's just that what is correct and what people actually do doesn't always match up ... :-)
