Yes, the link was is the e-mail. No problem. I don't think they are sharps, at least, the music I copied so far sounds proper without sharps, but I could try sharps and see if that would fit.

On the internet I found a website / post (lost where) telling that crosses are used in older notation to show bound syllables. That would fit the french words, which can be strung together over downward bend note indicated by the crossed position.

I found the crosses first in Psalm 22, which I was doing around Easter, later in Psalm 2 of which the picture came. There are definitely more in the scores so automation would be a nice feat.
