Margin kerning

Margin kerning somewhat stroke me so I'm really curious about how this
could be achieved with Lout.  Jeff, could you tell us what you had in
mind?  As I mentioned earlier, I would have expected the inclusion of
margin kerning to require modifications in Lout's internals.
