I just tried it, and you're right.  I didn't notice this before
because my poster has a three-column layout (cf. the link given in my
posting).

However, in my poster, @FullWidth{} works correctly, as you can see.
So I tried to enclose your example in @FullWidth{}, and it makes the
rule and the box expand to the full width; it's not quite right for
single-column documents since it inserts a new page, but it may help
in finding the problem.

So, is this something we forgot to change in the setup file or is this
another limit which needs to be increased?
