I don't think you can do this in @Report. In these cases it is usually
simplest to get to like whatever it is that Lout does provide.

Let's see what the others think. I had bad experiences years ago with
usenet groups filled with rubbishy posts, I had to unsubscribe in the
end. Perhaps things have improved. The mailing list works well.

There is a problem with this: the symbols of @M will not be visible
within the equation parameter of @MIP. This is a basic design flaw in
Lout. But in any case you don't need it, just write @M { x sup 2 } and
so on in your paragraph. If there is a problem with that, or if the
documentation led you to believe it would not work, let me know.
