Thank you for the suggestion, unfortunately it didn't work.

I did :

yannigr@UTILISA-2DI2OG0:/mnt/d/Dropbox/Yannig/Perso/Ham/pensebete$ export LANG= yannigr@UTILISA-2DI2OG0:/mnt/d/Dropbox/Yannig/Perso/Ham/pensebete$ lout -PDF test_case.lout > test_case.pdf

I still get :

lout file "test_case.lout":
16,1: no @ItemPlace galley target precedes this @ItemPlace&&preceding
18,1: no @EndListPlace galley target precedes this @EndListPlace&&preceding

I don't really understand the error message. How could I investigate further and make sense of it?

I forget the error, it arises from some setlocale call if I recall
correctly, but I've found Lout won't work for me in my usual default
Unicode locale so I change LANG for trying to use Lout.
Yeah, just to confirm,

[mtbc]$ lout --@PageType{Letter} <mydoc.lout >mydoc.ps
lout:
         : unable to initialize collation
lout file "/usr/pkg/share/lout/include/lengths" (from "bsf" line 32, from "mydoc-doc"
line 17, from "-" line 1):
80,21: fatal error: exiting now (error in definitions)
[mtbc]$ export LANG=
[mtbc]$ lout --@PageType{Letter} <mydoc.lout >mydoc.ps
[mtbc]$

So, an easy workaround at least.
