Hello Scott,
well, ICMP is really a simple protocol implementation, especially just the
"pong"s. You should be able to find out where it goes wrong in there.
I think pings are replaced in memory by pongs even, but I'ld have to check
that. So no memory handling occurs.
Maybe your ethernet interrupt handler pre-empts other code accessing the
ethernet controller?
