Hello all,

given that I am unable to work on my previous target, I am about to set up a virtual machine
running Linux to test some stuff.

Can someone point out how I can test the current lwIP on a Linux 2.6.x kernel? Especially bringing the lwIP netif inside the kernel?
I will assemble this into a small HOWTO for doc/

The unix lib project in the contrib module might be handy. It shouldn't care if you're using 2.4 or 2.6 or whatever. I don't recall how this expects to interface to the hardware though, but I expect tapif is the default.

Thanks both, I have been using the Unix minimal project on a Linux server which I had no root rights of, and possibly with tapif not installed.

Will try it on my own server soon,

in fact a virtual machine should be a great test environment...
