I'm going to go ahead and do the following next week

1) Fix freebsd compile
2) Dig up an OpenBSD box
3) For now, I'm going to change all the log_log to be priority LOG_INFO
for syslog. Wecan change them indidually afterwards. All the of log statements 
attached
to "DEBUG"will be changed to LOG_DEBUG.
