Since Windows 2000 (NTFS v3.0) there are "Junction Points" [1] which
are, more or less, like symbolic links. But many Windows applications
(including Explorer) have problems with them. Vista has a better
version of this [2].

I would be happy if monotone would just support symlinks on the
filesystems that can have them.
Something like ignoring symlinks when it can't use them, would be
enough for me. At least it will allow anyone to checkout a source
tree, even if not 100% correct. The same could be said about mixing
files with lower and uppercase on case-insensitive filesystems (warn
the user and ignore them).

This ignore thing has another place where it should be used: ignore
missing files.
Why should one have to be forced to solve a missing file problem
before doing any other operation not involving this files?
