Follow-up Comment #23, bug #49609 (project octave):

On my PC (Ubuntu 16.04 with Unity) the Deskopt session recovers in the
following way:
* start Octave (GUI) via a .desktop link
* "while true ; end" and Ctrl+C
* result: "pseude crash"
** short full screen image (Unity login image I think)
** afterwards: all other desktop applications are closed (crashed)
** Octave GUI still running (the same instance, with same pid)
* once again: "while true ; end" and Ctrl+C
* result now: "all fine"
** no login image of the desktop manager at all
** all other applications continue working properly
** Ocave GUI also still there (still same pid)

So the "pseude crash" only works once, afterwards everything seems fine.

How do I figure out the exit status? (I can only produce this when starting
Octave via a .desktop link, and this "disconnects" the terminal, see comment
#6 and comment #8)
