Follow-up Comment #13, bug #58641 (project octave):

I'm pretty sure that the Oracle JDK is actually built from the same code base
as OpenJDK; it differs only in licensing and some deployment & packaging stuff
added in. OpenJDK and Oracle JDK can be expected to behave the same way in
pretty much all respects, including internal JVM behaviors like this.
