Follow-up Comment #33, bug #59173 (project octave):
The note in NEWS.5 didn't give notice of when `LFLAG` would be removed. Do we
need to announce the removal again? Afaict, such announcements haven't been
repeated in the past.
Would it be enough to change the FIXME in mkoctfil.in.cc to mark the removal
for Octave 8?
