Follow-up Comment #34, bug #59173 (project octave):
I don't think it hurts to overcommunicate. We can tell programmers again in
the NEWS file that "LFLAGS" is deprecated and will be removed. I'm fine with
removing it in Octave 8 and adjusting both the NEWS and FIXME comments to
reflect that.
