Follow-up Comment #18, bug #59203 (project octave): Sorry, to interrupt again. I had a quick look at the windows package. And it seems easy enough to have it return and accept UTF-8 encoded strings. That would probably be the best way to go forward. I'll open a separate bug report when I have sorted my changes a little bit. Let's wait for John D's opinion on that.
