Follow-up Comment #18, bug #59203 (project octave):
Sorry, to interrupt again.
I had a quick look at the windows package. And it seems easy enough to have it
return and accept UTF-8 encoded strings.
That would probably be the best way to go forward.
I'll open a separate bug report when I have sorted my changes a little bit.
Let's wait for John D's opinion on that.
If he agrees to change this in the windows package, the fix for the bug here
would lead to simpler code and allow to read and write any character with the
COM interface.
