Follow-up Comment #56, bug #58957 (project octave): I realize now that what I asked for in comment #54 is what you proposed in comment #52. In this case: I completely agree that this would be a feasible way. I went ahead and tested with the attached patch. With it, `pkg test sparsersb` no longer crashes Octave. If you agree, I'll add that patch to MXE Octave.
