Follow-up Comment #10, bug #61199 (project octave):

I'm attaching my draft changes.

I know the hash is somewhat inconvenient, but it's unique.  The numeric id for
the changeset could change even in the savannah repo if that repo had to be
reconstructed from another copy at some point, or if we were forced to strip a
change from the repo.  Also, even if we don't have to rewrite the savannah
repo, users have to know that the number corresponds to that repo only, not
their local copy.
