Very nice work @Christof.
I would like to make some more tests, but meanwhile:

1. If I understand correctly if antialiasing is not specified, the default
should be True only when downscaling, not for upscaling
2. typo: "Antialiasing must bei true, false or a number" in line 180.

I hope that we will be able to push it to the upcoming 2.14. release.
