Follow-up Comment #16, bug #62282 (project octave):

Imho, the current behavior matches the documentation of the `ls` function in
Octave. According to it `\*` is treated as an escaped asterisk in the argument
to `ls`.
If users would like to *not* escape that asterisk, they would need to use
forward slash `/*` (also on Windows). E.g.:

ls C:\Octave\Octave-7.1.0\mingw64\share\octave\packages\audio-2.0.4/*


Does that work?
