Follow-up Comment #9, bug #62282 (project octave):

Arrrgh. Did my tests with forward slashes "/" instead of backslashes "\" as
the directory separator.

I'm trying to remember why I changed that in the first place. But it was most
likely to fix some issue. (And just reverting to "dir" as the backend is
probably not an option in that case.)

Could you please check with the attached updated version of the patch? I'm
also attaching the changed version of `ls.m` so you don't have to manually
edit the file...

Does it work with that version?
