@jwe: I copied your comment to bug #62865 where we could discuss potential
changes in the behavior of the load path functions.
In this report, I'd like to concentrate on the actual error in Octave 7.2.0
when adding a path from a mapped network share that contains a symbolic link
to a different share.

(It's a pity that we only noticed this shortly *after* 7.2.0 was released. But
better late than never...)
