Follow-up Comment #60, bug #66882 (group octave):

Ah. These functions are currently only called with an increment of 1. So, the
issue doesn't manifest.
We should still do that correctly in general imho. So, I went ahead and pushed
a change that addresses these two issues to the default branch:

We might still want to make these new wrapper functions static to their
compilation unit. But I didn't make that modification yet.
