Easy there, the readme doesn't "lie" :) The conf.h bit is a leftover
from the early ratpoison days, when I discovered that RP was incompatible
with XFree86-4.0's xterm running under FreeBSD 4.1-STABLE. Then, conf.h
was the correct place to redefine the commands RP invokes; this may have
changed now, and the readme file might be lacking behind the times, but
it *did* document the correct procedure at the time :)
Unfortunately, I have not been following RP closely since then, so I cannot
provide a good answer to the original poster's question.
G'luck,
Peter
