the usual method is to edit a file in CVSROOT, but I get this:
$ cvs -d address@hidden:/webcvs co CVSROOT
cvs server: failed to create lock directory in repository `/webcvs/CVSROOT':
Permission denied
cvs server: failed to obtain dir lock in repository `/webcvs/CVSROOT'
cvs [server aborted]: read lock failed - giving up
$
what am I doing wrong?

thanks - I did edit the .symlinks file and I am eagerly waiting for the
update to show up (tomorrow?)
