A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden

Kevin Atkinson <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: lgpl
Other License:
Package: The New Aspell
System name: aspell
This package does NOT want to apply for inclusion in the GNU project

The project here will be the merge of Aspell and Pspell. The project will be
named the New Aspell until it becomes stable and it will then become simply
Aspell and the old Aspell and Pspell hosted on sourceforge will sease to
exist. An announcment about the merge can be found at
http://pspell.sourceforge.net/merge.html. However note that I plan on going
with Aspell as the name rather than Pspell, but this is not set it turn so I
would like to have the possiblilty of renaming the project.

Aspell is an Open Source spell checker designed to eventually replace Ispell.
Its main feature is that it does a much better job of coming up with possible
suggestions than Ispell does. In fact recent tests shows that it even does
better than Microsoft Word 97\'s spell checker or just about any other spell
checker I have seen. It also has support for checking (La)TeX and Html files,
and run time support for other non English languages.

Pspell is a portable spell checker interface library. After the merge Aspell
will have the same core as it does now but will also have a C interface very
similar to the interface Pspell has now. Aspell will also be fully moduler.

Aspell can be found at http://aspell.sf.net and Pspell can be found at
http://pspell.sf.net/
